Fire Department Ride-Along Program Information Sheet
Purpose:
The Ride Along Program allows community members to observe the daily operations of a fire station and gain firsthand experience of a firefighter’s duties. This program is designed to promote understanding, encourage interest in fire service careers, and foster positive community relationships.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be 14-18 years old
- Must complete a Ride Along Program application and sign a liability waiver.
Program Guidelines:
- Appropriate attire is required: long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a plain shirt. No shorts, sandals, or clothing with offensive graphics.
- No photography, video, or audio recording without prior approval.
- Participants are observers only and are not permitted to participate in emergency operations.
- Any breach of conduct or safety protocols may result in immediate termination of the ride-along.
What to Expect:
- Observation of emergency response calls (fire, rescue, EMS, etc.)
- Exposure to daily station routines, training, and maintenance
- Opportunity to ask questions and interact with firefighters
Application Process:

- After submitting application await the interview time with ride-along and his/her guardian.
- Attend the scheduled ride-along.
